A Black African ethnic group inhabiting Pakistan and India, who are descended from the Bantu peoples of the East African region. They are primarily Muslims, although some are Hindus and Christians.
The reason I made this artwork is I took time to think about what to do with Black people with their struggles, and there I remembered Siddis/Sheedis. You all know well that I promote various cultures from South Asia mostly, so it was a perfect opportunity to present the culture of Siddis/Sheedis to the modern audience. Also, I noticed how South Asians being pro-BLM, also talked about problems in South Asia and the world which is a great thing. And there, not a single South Asian ever mentioned there’s a black community in South Asia, who share a similar struggle with Black Americans and other African ethnic groups over the world.
